The film
John Landis's second attempt and the first prank by the Zucker, Abraham & Zucker trio (of Airplane! and Top Secret! fame) in the cinema industry, Kentucky Fried Movie amounts to 90 minutes of blatant assault on audiences' zygomatics. From sketch to sketch, all established genres are subjected to close scrutiny : film noir, erotic, disaster, trial, war, kung-fu and spy movies, slapstick, advertisements... Even the opening credits are absolute classics. But there is much more to this film than mere fooling around and gratuitous quotations : it's a hair-raising mixture that, on the contrary, demonstrates a rare ability to create a coherent world while exploring popular culture, ideas, icons and fantasies.

Red alert : John Landis himself will present this cinematic offense against public decency.
