Les utopiales
Exhibitions
Science fiction is present in all forms of expression, and particularly in the visual arts. In addition to the care we put into our posters, our Utopiales festival offers a dozen exhibitions to the public each year.
The exhibitions
The most important exhibition is usually dedicated to the illustrator of the poster for the current edition of the Utopiales. It retraces the illustrator’s work over several years, whether it’s for comics, like Enki Bilal or Bajram, for book covers or illustrations, like Manchu, or for movie posters, like Laurent Durieux.
The exhibitions at Utopiales deal with science fiction in the broadest sense, but also with sciences. For instance, several exhibitions have been brought to us by INSERM and CEA, including À corps perdu in 2017 and Voyage au centre de la galaxie in 2018.
Immersive proposals are also programmed, such as the C’est arrivé demain exhibition, organized in 2018 in partnership with the Miroir de Poitiers. Conceived as a spaceship in the heart of the Utopiales, the immersive and interactive scenography offered a different approach to the work of three renowned cartoonists, Mathieu Bablet, Denis Bajram and Marion Montaigne.
Finally, in partnership with the Nantes Public Library, the Utopiales offer an annual exhibition on a particular theme, bringing together the Public Library, the Chronographe, the National History Museum and the Planetarium.
